Instant message translation
I am talking about the Touch to translate function, which has been available for some time in the Google Translate application. It provides significant facilitation in communication with friends who speak another language. Thanks to it, you can translate messages without leaving the application you are currently using.
To start translating a message:
- Download and install the Google Translate application .
- Open the application Google Translator .
- Slide the menu on the left and select Settings.
- Tap Tap to translate .
- Slide the switch at Turn on at the top of the screen.
- Now go to WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger .
- In the chat window, select and copy the message to be translated.
- A balloon from Google Translate will appear on the screen .
- Tap the balloon to display the translation.
- You can change the language of the translation if needed.
Since you use Translator while using messenger, you probably want to send a reply in a foreign language. To do this, you can translate your new message without closing the previous window immediately after displaying the translation .
- If you want to answer in a foreign language, tap New translation .
- Enter the message in your language in the first field .
- The automatic translation of your text will appear in the second field .
- Click Copy to copy the translation.
- Balloon interpreter will be closed .
- Now you can paste the translation into the message input window of your messenger.
You can use the Tap to translate function in any application, not only in WhatsApp or Messenger.
